Sarah has been leading Blackhill (formerly STV Studios Drama) since 2014. In that time, they have produced dramas such as two seasons of prison series Screw for Channel 4, and most recently The Witness, a limited series for Netflix. Prior to that, Sarah was Executive Producer on Elizabeth is Missing for BBC One, which won a raft of awards including a BAFTA and International Emmy for its star, Glenda Jackson; and a BAFTA nomination for Best Single Drama in 2019. She also developed and executive produced The Victim, which was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Limited Series in the same year.

Previously Head of Development, Producer and Executive Producer at BBC Drama in London, Sarah’s credits include Oliver Twist, Lark Rise to Candleford and The Song of Lunch.

Originally from Glasgow, she spends as much time as possible on the Solway Firth. When not going to theatre and watching TV, she is often found at Selhurst Park supporting Crystal Palace FC.

Claire joined STV as a Development Producer in 2011, where she developed the BAFTA award‑winning Elizabeth is Missing. She is now Director of Development at Blackhill.

Early in her career, she was part of the team that set up the BBC Scotland’s continuing drama River City. She went on to work at STV Productions on Taggart before returning to London to produce Holby. She later worked as a Development Producer at World Productions, before returning to the BBC as a producer on shows such as Waking the Dead and Whistle and I’ll Come to You.

She leads the drama slate at Blackhill and is happiest when working closely with writers, knee‑deep in story, drafts and ideas.

Andy joined the team in 2023 and works across both production and the development slate, including most recently, script editing The Witness for Netflix.

Before joining the team, he worked at Red Planet Pictures in the development team and script edited the ITV drama, Our House. He previously worked as a freelance book and script reader for Sky, Bad Wolf and Moonage Pictures. Prior to moving into scripted TV, Andy worked for ten years as an actor in film, TV and theatre.

He loves historical fiction, is a Spurs fan and when he was 8 years old he was star struck meeting Wolf from Gladiators.

Jennifer began her career on the BBC Production Trainee Scheme in 2019, working on live events including Children in Need and Sport Relief, before moving into development with the BBC Entertainment team. She got her break in drama as a Development Assistant at Leopard Pictures, before joining STV Studios Drama (now Blackhill), where she works across the development slate and busy submissions list. Alongside her development work, Jen teaches pitch deck training courses to a range of institutions, including the NFTS. Originally from Liverpool, she is often let down by Avanti West Coast services, giving her plenty of time to read and nurture new voices in TV.

Sara joined STV Studios in 2024 as Director of Production, working across the four drama labels: Blackhill, Two Cities, Tod and Ferryman, where she has overseen The Witness (Netflix), Criminal Record (Apple), Amadeus (Sky), Blue Lights (BBC), and the upcoming The Yank (RTÉ) and Army of Shadows (Channel 4).

Sara was previously Head of Production at Tiger Aspect and Fifty Fathoms, and before that Urban Myth, overseeing a number of wide-ranging, critically acclaimed projects including Domina, The A Word, and ITV’s The Good Karma Hospital. She was nominated for a BAFTA for her work on Adult Material. Sara comes from a strong production background, and her credits include Merlin (BBC) and This Life (Channel 4).

Katy Engels joined STV in 2020 and has been making things happen ever since. She works across all of STV’s drama labels, serving as Production Executive on Screw Series 1 and 2 and The Witness for Blackhill, as well as Blue Lights Series 2, 3 and 4, Amadeus and The Yank for Two Cities Television, and Criminal Record Series 1 and 2 for Tod Productions; and looks forward to working with Ferryman too. With over 20 years in the industry, Katy brings a wealth of HETV experience and has collaborated with commissioners including Netflix, Sky, BBC, ITV, and RTÉ.

Prior to joining STV she was a freelance Line Producer, with credits including The Cry, Shetland, and feature films such as Only You, God Help the Girl, and Cloud Atlas. She did a short (but sweet) stint as Post-Production Manager at Blazing Griffin before joining the team at STV.

When she’s not busy bringing productions to life, Katy can be found learning to play the piano or behind the decks, perfecting her DJ skills and mixing up a few beats.

Hattie joined STV Drama in 2025, bringing with her five years of freelance experience across Scottish film and television. Before STV, she worked in production teams on a range of projects, including Netflix’s Department Q (Series 1) and the BBC’s Mayflies.

Based in Scotland, on her weekends she can usually be found in the Highlands – either up a hill or in a loch – and is never short of a wild weekend story to entertain (or lightly shock) the team during Monday catch‑ups.

Ross has been working as a lawyer in the TV industry since initially joining STV Studios in 2011. Since then, he has been involved in productions across various genres and labels within the STV Studios group.  In particular Ross has gained extensive legal experience relating to the development, financing and production of Drama programming – including assisting on productions for PSBs, global streamers and international co-productions.

Based in Glasgow, when not in the office Ross is usually to be found outside, dodging rain showers on a variety of bikes.

Mags has been part of the Blackhill legal team since joining STV Studios in 2019. Since then, she has provided legal and BA support in the development and production of various dramas and factual and entertainment programmes. Previously a practising litigation and media lawyer/Solicitor Advocate for many years, her first foray into TV was as a set dresser, making props for commercials. Having failed miserably to create the necessary ambience when she fell asleep lying on the floor trying to “billow the curtains lightly”, she learned to leave drama creation to others and stay in the office.

Lisa joined the STV Studios Legal team in 2022, following a number of years specialising in media and intellectual property law at a leading commercial law firm. She has since been providing legal support to STV Studios and its production labels across a range of genres. In particular, she has been working across the development, financing, production and distribution of an increasing slate of drama projects, in the UK and internationally.

In addition, Lisa advises on data protection and emerging AI-related matters in scripted programming.
